Furniture Removal
Furniture removal in Huntsville is the job we run most: sofas, sectionals, recliners, mattresses and box springs, dressers, dining sets, desks, pianos and hot tubs, carried out from wherever they sit and hauled off in the same visit. The price is set by the piece or by the load before we lift anything, and a photo through the form gets you the number.
Most calls are one or two pieces. The couch that did not make the move to the new house in Madison. The queen mattress a tenant left in a rental off Holmes Avenue. The sleeper sofa that will not go back down the stairs it came up. We send two people, moving blankets and a dolly, and it is gone in under an hour.
Same-day pickup happens when the truck is already in your part of the county. Otherwise the window is usually the next day or two, and you pick the morning or afternoon.
What we pick up
Sofas, loveseats, sectionals and sleeper sofas. Recliners and lift chairs. Mattresses and box springs in every size. Bed frames, headboards and bunk beds. Dressers, chests, armoires and nightstands. Dining tables with the chairs and the leaf. Desks, bookcases, filing cabinets and the entertainment center that was built around a tube television.
Also the things people call furniture when they want them gone: treadmills and exercise bikes, upright pianos, pool tables, patio sets, hot tubs, gun safes, swing sets and the trampoline the kids outgrew.
Condition does not matter for the pickup. Broken, stained, water-damaged, chewed by the dog, missing a drawer. Condition changes where the piece ends up, not whether we take it.
If the piece is on the second floor, in a finished basement or at the back of a bonus room, say so in the form. We bring the straps and the extra set of hands, and there is no upstairs charge. We take doors off hinges when we have to and put them back before we leave.
Office furniture counts too. Cubicle panels, conference tables, rolling chairs by the dozen and the reception desk from a Research Park suite that is downsizing. Those go as a load rather than by the piece.
Single item vs. full load
One piece gets the single-item rate. That is the minimum, and it covers two people, the loading, the drive and the disposal. A second or third piece usually tips you into a quarter load, which is roughly a pickup bed's worth of furniture. Half loads and full loads cover a whole room or a whole house.
The way to find out which you are looking at is a photo. Gather the pieces in one spot if you can, step back and take the picture. We reply with the load size, the price and the window. The price only moves if the pile did.
Heavy specialty items, hot tubs, pianos, safes and pool tables, are priced on their own line because they take different handling and sometimes a third person. Everything else rides on load size.
Two neighbors or two units in the same building can share a truck. Each gets quoted separately, but the crew makes one trip, and that usually works out better for both than two single-item pickups on different days.
Mattresses and box springs
Mattress removal is the one people put off longest, because a queen mattress will not fit in a car and every alternative involves a truck you do not have. Student move-outs around UAH and Alabama A&M in May and August produce a lot of them. So do guest-room upgrades, and the bed a parent slept in for thirty years in a Five Points ranch.
We bag mattresses before they go on the truck when there is any chance of bed bugs, and we tell you up front whether a mattress is headed to recycling or disposal. A set, mattress and box spring together, prices as one item. Several sets from a rental turnover price as a load.
Bed frames, slats and headboards go with the mattress at no extra line. If you are replacing the mattress, we can schedule the pickup for the morning the new one arrives so you are never sleeping on the floor.
Landlords with a building's worth of mattresses after a turnover: send the count and a photo of the stack. We quote it as one load and clear the whole thing in a morning.
Hot tubs and heavy items
Hot tub removal takes two or three people and about an hour. We drain it if it is still holding water, cut it into sections if it cannot leave the way it arrived, and carry the pieces out through the gate. The shell, the frame, the cover and the pump all go on the truck. The deck or pad it sat on can go too if you want the spot cleared for something else.
Pianos, safes and pool tables are a weight problem more than a size problem. Say what it is and where it sits in the form, including stairs and door widths, and we bring the right equipment. A spinet in a Blossomwood living room is a different job from a baby grand on the second floor in Hampton Cove, and the quote says so.
We do not charge extra because something is awkward. We charge for the handling it actually takes, and you see that line in the quote before we come out.
Donate first, then dump
A usable sofa, a dining set with all its chairs or a dresser with the drawers intact comes off the load for the donation outlets in Huntsville before anything heads to the facility. Mattresses, broken pieces and anything stained or chewed go to disposal or recycling. We donate or recycle what we can, and we tell you which pile your furniture went to if you ask.
If you want a piece to go somewhere specific, a family member across town, a church, a friend's new apartment, we can drop it there instead of hauling it off. It is still a pickup, just with a different destination, and it costs the same as the trip to the facility.

Questions we get
What is the best way to get rid of large furniture in Huntsville?
If it is usable, list it or call a donation outlet and let someone come get it. If it is not, or you need it gone this week, a hauler is the answer. One piece is a single-item pickup; a roomful is a quarter or half load, and the photo quote tells you which. The city truck takes some bulk items on its own terms; we take all of it, from inside the house, on your schedule.
Do you take mattresses?
Yes. Mattresses and box springs in every size, bagged when needed, as a single item or as part of a load. Set the old one aside and we can pick it up the morning the new mattress arrives.
Can you remove a hot tub from my backyard?
Yes. We drain it, cut it if it will not fit through the gate, and carry it out in sections. It usually takes two or three people and about an hour. Send a photo of the tub and the path out and we quote it as a single heavy item.
Do I need to move the furniture to the curb first?
No. We carry everything from where it sits, including upstairs, basements and bonus rooms. Leaving it at the curb does not lower the price, and HOA neighborhoods like Hampton Cove would rather you did not.
Send a photo of the piece
A picture, where it sits in the house and the address. You get a single-item or load price back the same day in most cases.
